Robert Kiyosaki recently presented a 3 day business school on the “Psychology of Winning.” I think this topic is extremely valuable to study as an entrepreneur…
Have you ever stopped and wondered what is the essence of a winner? What makes a winner different from anyone else? Looking around today you see much of society settling to be comfortable and losing their spirit or inner drive and ultimately settling for mediocrity.
Winner’s Kiss of Death
The “kiss of death” for winners is when you get dwell in your past successes. Obsessing over nostalgia is the poison of creating a winning mentality. Your past successes mean nothing!
Your point of power is in the present.
You have the ability in the present to change the past and future. You can change the past by changing your perception of past failures by learning from your mistakes and adjusting your direction and thus changing your future. Don’t live in the past, but if you learn from the past you will achieve a brighter future.
If you contrast winners to losers you will find that losers seek approval from their peers and oftentimes are rewarded for losing. Think of people who’s lives are in perpetual turmoil whether its financial or health-related, you will find that most people will pity those negative occurrences and which perpetuates the losing mentality even further.
I Won vs I Win.
The word “won” is in the past, and the word “win” is in the present. Winning is a continual process, not an event. After achieving a great win, it’s easy to get complacent and rest on that past win and not move forward. That’s why it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate each win and then definite new clear goals and objects to move forward or you will fall prey to mediocrity.
Donald Trump says that in order to have an edge…you have to live on the edge. Robert always talks about striving to be and do more with what you have and push the boundary beyond where you are now.
After each win, make sure to celebrate and immediately find a new “game” to play!
What is YOUR will to win?
